Privacy Policy

This page explains how Clash Download (domain clashcom.com, referred to below as "this site") handles data while serving its pages. This site functions as a download index and configuration documentation resource for the Clash client ecosystem. It does not operate any account system and does not engage in any form of commercial data trading. By continuing to browse this site, you acknowledge and accept the terms below.

1. Scope of Data Collection

This site is entirely static — every page is generated at deployment time, and no server-side logic requiring user identity runs behind it. Based on this architecture, this site:

  • Provides no registration or login functionality and creates no user accounts of any kind;
  • Has no comment, message, or email subscription forms that would require submitting personal information;
  • Does not request or receive names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other directly identifying personal information;
  • Does not access files, clipboard contents, or other application data on a user's device unrelated to this site's pages.

Client installers downloaded from this site are release artifacts from third-party open-source projects. Any data practices arising from installing or using that software are governed by the privacy terms of the software itself, and fall outside the scope of this policy.

2. Visit Analytics

To understand page traffic and gauge whether documentation content is actually being used, this site runs a self-hosted analytics tool. The collected data is used only for the following purposes:

  • Tracking page views and referral source types per page, to assess how well content is reaching readers;
  • Gaining a rough sense of visiting device categories (desktop or mobile) and browser environments, to improve layout and compatibility;
  • Recording how platform tabs on the download page are switched, to check whether platform-specific content is organized sensibly.

All data collected through analytics is aggregated technical information. It is never linked to any identity, never used to build user profiles, and never sold or shared with third parties. Analytics data is stored on servers this site maintains itself and does not pass through any commercial analytics platform. If a browser's content-blocking extension prevents the analytics script from loading, every page feature still works normally and is unaffected.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

The functionality of this site does not depend on cookies. Any browser-local data that might be written falls into just two categories:

  • A technical cookie set by the analytics tool to distinguish unique visits; it has a limited lifespan, contains a random identifier, and holds no personal information;
  • Interactive page state (such as the currently selected platform tab on the download page) is tracked through the URL anchor and is generally not written to local storage; where an interaction does need to remember state, only localStorage is used, and only to store non-sensitive key-value pairs related to interface preferences.

All such data is stored solely in the user's own browser and can be removed at any time via the browser's "Clear Site Data" feature. Removing it does not affect normal browsing of this site's pages.

4. External Links and Downloaded Files

Download pages and documentation on this site contain links to third parties, including open-source project release files, App Store pages, and official client websites. These external sites are managed by their respective operators and are governed by their own privacy policies and terms of service. This site has no control over them and bears no responsibility for their content or data practices.

Installer download links provided on this site point to the public releases of the corresponding open-source projects. Users are advised to obtain installers only through the channels indicated on this site's pages, and to pay attention to operating system security prompts before installing. This site offers no endorsement whatsoever of repackaged installers from unknown sources.

5. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated as site features change or relevant regulations evolve. Updated versions will be published directly on this page, with the "Last updated" date at the top revised accordingly; individual users will not be separately notified. Significant changes (such as new categories of data collection) will be clearly noted in the update description. Users who visit this site regularly are encouraged to review this page from time to time.

6. Feedback

This site does not maintain a public contact email. If you have questions about the meaning of any clause in this policy, or run into an issue related to page functionality, please check the FAQ page first. For questions about client installation or subscription configuration, refer to the relevant sections in the Quick Start guide and the Full Manual.
